Please be sure to include a note in the box with your name and phone number you used when filling out the online form. If you do not, we may have trouble identifying who sent us the machine and if we cannot match with a ticket, it will be returned to sender.

We would recommend taking any desktops and PC All-In-One (AIO) systems to a local shop if possible. Desktops and especially PC AIOs have a higher chance of being damaged in shipping. We recommend not shipping PC AIOs, we cannot be liable for damages by shipping carriers. However, we can of course still repair these devices.

When self-shipping, for iPhones and iPads, we suggest wrapping your items in 1-2 layers of bubble wrap or similar and enclosing it in a small box padded with crumpled newspaper.

Laptops, be sure to wrap your computer in 2-3 inches of bubble wrap and place in an appropriately sized box.

Larger items such as desktops, wrapping with 2-3 inches of bubble wrap and place inside appropriately sized box, then placing the box in a larger box with extra packaging (1-2 inches) will result in the best protection. Alternatively, check out the video below. Newspaper and towels are not approved protection. It is not necessary to send the original box of your device for shipping.

We do not offer insurance on these packages, and are not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen items while in the care of the shipping carrier. We recommend that you add insurance to your shipment each way to cover the amount which you feel is reasonable. We are not responsible for any damage incurred because of improper packaging by the consumer when shipping devices to our facilities. You can also provide for your own return shipping. UPS and FedEx both offer boxes for shipping computers and offer pack and ship services. USPS is fine, but does not offer packing. Please make sure to package carefully, as Compco is not liable for computers physically damaged from shipping.

Packing the device
Most of our customers package their own items for shipping. It is not necessary to send the original box of your device for shipping. For iPhones and iPads, we suggest wrapping your items in 1-2 layers of bubble wrap or similar and enclosing it in a small box padded with crumpled newspaper. For larger items such as desktops, wrapping with 2-3 inches of bubble wrap and place inside appropriately sized box, then placing the box in a larger box with extra packaging (1-2 inches) will result in the best protection. Please do not use especially large boxes for shipping small items such as iPads and iPhones. You do not need to include your case, original box, smart cover, charger, or any other accessories with your shipment.

Please be aware shipping any custom gaming desktop has a higher risk to be damaged from shipping! Special care MUST be taken. The same goes for normal desktops and PC AIOs. We recommend following the process LinusTechTips has for desktops, workstations and custom gaming systems:

ONCE YOU HAVE MY COMPUTER, WHAT IS THE PROCESS?

Once we have your computer, please allow us 2-5 business days to assess it and give you a quote. We offer free diagnostics. Please note, certain excepts apply to this. After we know what is wrong, you will be contacted. We work off a flat rate repair model:

OEM PCs, Laptops and Apple Computers - $150 + Parts
Custom Gaming and Workstation PCs - $200 + Parts
In some cases, due to the complexity and/or severity of a repair, additional labor or services may apply.

HOW MUCH IS RETURN SHIPPING?

Return shipping usually breaks down to the following:

13’’ and 15’’ Laptops – $15-30 Flat Rate
16’’ and 17’’ Laptops - $15-$45 (depending on location)
Desktop and PC AIO Shipping - $25-$60

Pricing on shipping depends on your location. The customer is responsible for shipping both ways. Return shipping costs will be added to your final invoice. Expedited shipping services are available at your request. Additional fees apply.

HOW LONG DOES A REPAIR TAKE?

This really depends on several factors. On average, we quote customers between 3-7 business day turnaround after we received your device. However, complications such as part availability, shipping, data recovery and other factors can cause repairs to take longer. Expedited options are available. We can expedite your repair to have a quote same day device is received for an additional $50. We can also overnight ship back, drastically cutting down turnaround time. CAN YOU PROVIDE ME A BOX FOR SHIPPING?

At this time, this is not something we can provide. However, this is something we are looking into! Hopefully, we can make this happen in the future.

HOW MUCH DOES A REPAIR COST?

Due to the nature of the repair business, this is hard to tell you for sure. However, what we can say is most repairs average around $200-$300 before shipping and taxes. We are very up front about our repair process and pricing. If the repair is too much for you, just pay for shipping and we will send it back.

HOW MAY I PAY?

Mail-in repairs can be paid via Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AMEX or PayPal.

ARE THERE ISSUES YOU WON’T SERVICE?

There are some devices we do not service due to lack of parts, age, & other reasons. Do feel free to call, e-mail, or chat with us to ensure that your issue is serviceable before sending it in. We are always available immediately by phone.

Please note we do have exceptions:

We do not work on iMacs over the mail.

We have had many bad experiences with not only shipping iMacs ourselves, but receiving them. iMacs are surprisingly fragile and require extra care when packing. Even if these machines are in their original packaging, we still had issues. Due to this, many arrived damaged from shipping. We do not take any responsibility for shipping damage on iMacs shipped to us. We will not work on iMacs shipped to us either. Please do not ship them to us! Bring them in in-person or find someplace local!!!!

We do not service ANY devices that are contaminated with human or animal waste or insects. Any systems that have been exposed to, infested or have come into contact with animal, insect or human excrement, bodily fluids, etc. will be refused. Systems that have been contaminated or infested with insects WILL be refused. This is in violation of several health and safety ordinances of state and local government. Not to mention it is gross and a disease vector. DO NOT SEND US THESE MACHINES. If you do, you WILL be blacklisted.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?

Yes: before you send a repair, don’t forget to fill out the form.

Do not send us any boxes you want to keep! This includes Apple boxes. We have limited space in our store, and all received boxes are broken down and disposed of the moment they are received. If you send us your device in its original box, such as the box Apple sells you the Macbook in – you will not receive it back.

We cannot take responsibility for any shipped device since we cannot control or guarantee safe delivery from your carrier.

Any unclaimed, returned shipments, or inaccurate shipping addresses provided may result in return shipments or delays, as is this is the sole responsibility of the owner. Any return shipments will only be re-shipped after we receive payment for the reshipment charge.

Please be aware that in the unlikely event that you decline to have your product repaired once it is received by us, customer will be charged a return shipping & diagnostic service fee.


Lost Packages

Compco, LLC will not be responsible for lost or damaged devices during shipping. Nor are we responsible for mishandling by the shipping company. We will arrange for the shipping if requested, but take no other liability or responsibility for anything further which is out of our control. If you are unsure of or uncomfortable with our shipping options and features, then you should call us at (203) 724-9999 so that we may attempt to accommodate your needs.

In the unlikely event your package is lost in transit, we will do everything possible to assist you with tracking down your device(s) with UPS and filing a lost item claim. Please ensure you always have your most current, and correct, shipping address associated with your order(s).
