If you've been using Apple devices to run your business — iPhones, MacBooks, iPads — you may already be familiar with tools like Apple Business Manager or Apple Business Essentials. Well, Apple just rolled them all into one powerful, streamlined platform called Apple Business, which officially launched on April 14, 2026. As your local Apple Authorized Service Provider in Stamford, CT, we at Compco USA want to break down exactly what's new, what's changing, and how it could help your business run more efficiently.
What Is Apple Business?
Apple Business is Apple's new all-in-one platform designed to help companies of all sizes manage their devices, communicate with customers, and equip their teams — all from a single interface. It consolidates three previously separate tools — Apple Business Essentials, Apple Business Manager, and Apple Business Connect — into one unified platform available in over 200 countries.
🎉 The best part for small businesses? The core platform is free.
What's Included in Apple Business?
Built-In Mobile Device Management (MDM)
One of the most powerful features for small business owners is the built-in mobile device management system. If you have employees using iPhones, iPads, or Macs for work, Apple Business lets you configure all of those devices from a single dashboard — setting up security policies, distributing apps, and managing user permissions without needing a dedicated IT department. A new feature called Blueprints lets you create preconfigured device setups so that when a new employee joins your team, their Apple device is ready to go right out of the box. No manual setup required. This is a huge win for small and mid-sized businesses in Fairfield County that rely on Apple devices but don't have in-house IT support.
Business Email, Calendar & Directory with Your Own Domain
Apple Business now includes fully integrated email, calendar, and directory services. You can connect your own custom domain name (or purchase a new one through Apple) so your team communicates with professional, branded email addresses rather than personal iCloud accounts. A built-in company directory makes it easy for employees to find and connect with each other.
Enhanced Visibility on Apple Maps — Including Ads
This is a big one for local businesses. Starting this summer, Apple Business will allow U.S. and Canadian businesses to run ads directly in Apple Maps. These ads will appear at the top of search results when nearby users are looking for businesses like yours. Given how many iPhone users rely on Apple Maps every day, this is a significant new opportunity for local businesses to get discovered by new customers. Apple Business also includes all the brand management tools from the former Apple Business Connect — meaning you can customize your Apple Maps listing with photos, business hours, special offers, and custom action buttons like "Order" or "Reserve."
Branded Communications Across Apple Services
Apple Business lets you display your brand logo and name across Apple Mail, iCloud Mail, and even on the Apple Pay payment screen when customers pay via Tap to Pay on iPhone. This kind of brand consistency across Apple's ecosystem helps build customer trust and recognition.
A Companion App for Employees
There's also a new Apple Business companion app that employees can use to install work apps, find colleague contact info, and request IT support — all from their iPhone.
What Happened to Apple Business Essentials, Manager & Connect?
All three are now retired and replaced by Apple Business. The good news: if you were already using any of these tools, your data migrated automatically at launch. And if you were paying for Apple Business Essentials, your monthly device management fee has been dropped — that feature is now included free in Apple Business.
Is There Anything That Costs Money?
The core platform is free. Optional paid upgrades include:
- Additional iCloud storage starting at $0.99 per user/month
- AppleCare+ for Business starting at $6.99 per device/month — great for protecting your team's devices
Note: Some features like the companion app, email, and calendar will require iOS 26, iPadOS 26, or macOS 26 when those updates roll out later this year.
